Corrosion protection and the environment - an issue of great importance |
|
The “dusty times” are once and for all a thing of the past. Today, environmental protection is a high priority, especially when it comes to removing old coatings that contain lead or chromate. The bridge, which is welded at the preassembly area, is corrosion protected in a blasting hall in the course of the bridge shunting. The dust generated through blasting is extracted by filtration systems, the metal abrasive is cleaned and reused. In this context, there are rules and regulations with the clear central theme of “environmental protection in blasting operations” and disposal of contaminated blasting waste. To comply with the technical standard, even large constructions have to be enclosed on all sides and air conditioning provided within the working chamber. The unique feature of this processing technique is the ability to use reusable abrasive. In this way, the amount of blasting waste is reduced and landfill areas are effectively relieved.
